An apparatus for compensating for twisting of a fabric in a singeing machine is provided to achieve a smooth singeing process and improve the singeing efficiency of the fabric, by using a pair of spreaders to compensate for right-left twisting of the fabric during a singeing process of the fabric. A support frame(30) is constituted of a front portion of a burner unit. A guide bar(31) is formed above a body of the support frame in a horizontal direction. First and second fixing frames(40,44) are respectively installed at both sides of the guide bar, and horizontally movable centering on the center thereof. Rubber rollers(43) driven by motors(100) are installed at both sides in a longitudinal direction within each of the fixing frames. First and second magnet members are formed at a center portion and upper and lower portions of one side within the each of the fixing frames. A pair of spreaders(50) are respectively positioned in a longitudinal direction within the first and second fixing frames. Third magnet members are formed in a metal portion of a rear side of each spreader and upper and lower portions of each spreader, wherein the magnet members have the same polarities as the second magnet members. A belt outside each spreader is closely formed on the rubber rollers of the first and second fixing frames while a plurality of guide rollers(54) are formed within each spreader.
