The screw has a screw shaft (2) and a screw head (3) with two opposed oblong hole shaped recesses. A ball unit (6) with a recess for accommodating a connecting unit is movably mounted in the head. The ball unit includes a hole along an axis running through the oblong hole shaped recesses. The ball unit has two olives stored one after the other. The screw head is supported on a ball head of the shaft. An independent claim is also included for a device for stabilizing a spinal column.
