An air conditioner is provided to mount a third heat exchanger or a closing element alternatively at the same position for converting a cooling capacity of the air conditioner between a small capacity and a large capacity easily by commonly sharing all the other component parts. An air conditioner includes a main body(10) formed with inlets at front and top surfaces and an outlet at a lower part, and a heat exchange unit(20) and a blower fan mounted in the main body. The heat exchange unit has a first heat exchanger(21) mounted at an upper rear part of the blower fan, a second heat exchanger(22) mounted at an upper front part of the blower fan, a third heat exchanger(23) detachably mounted in front of the blower fan, and a closing element(30) capable of being mounted to the position of the third heat exchanger for converting a cooling capacity.
