The invention refers to agriculture, in particular to selection and may be used for identification of soft winter wheat genotypes resistant to root rot pathogenic agents. The proposed method includes treatment of grains with Fusarium and Drechslera fungi culture filtrates, germination thereof and measurement of embryonal stem length, statistic processing of the obtained data with the construction of plant distribution histograms to phenotypic classes. At the same time, resistant are considered the genotypes the histograms of which are unimodal, nonrectified, without breakdowns or tendencies towards phenotypic class sequence breakdown.
