The article (1) has an applicator surface (3) defined by a flexible sheet (2) of synthetic fiber. The surface is mounted on a finger/on a gripping body i.e. pen. A composition (C) of make-up of eyebrows/lashes is placed on a part of the surface. A removable protection film recovers the composition before the protection film is set in contact with the eyebrows. A barrier forming layer forms a barrier with liquid e.g. water, for isolating the finger from the composition when the article is mounted on the finger. The surface includes reliefs in the form of fibers. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a make-up article of eyelashes/eyebrows.
