An aesthetically pleasing and thermally efficient fenestration assembly (1), such as a double-hung window, is disclosed. The assembly includes interior (4) and exterior (2) panel sections that receive respective panels (3). A linkage system (8b, 9, 11) connects to the interior panel and is configured to cover at least a portion of an interior track (6b) formed within the interior panel section. Covering the track provides some thermal insulation and provides aesthetic advantages.
