The apparatus (1) has a force application system (8) controlled by a control unit (9). A remote control e.g. radio remote control, of the control unit is deported with respect to the force application system and is apart from a risk zone in which the apparatus is placed to activate the remote control by an operator located apart from the risk zone. The force application system has a detachable connection unit (12) e.g. cable, between an electrical motor and a sport or game equipment to be tested. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing mechanical resistance of a sport or game equipment.
