A color interpolation method and device is provided to compute parameters through different algorithms according to conditions of directional information using edge directional information, thereby preventing color errors from being generated and limiting generation of zipper type artifact in circumference of an edge. A color interpolation method and device comprises the following steps of: computing edge direction information by extracting only pixel values without respect to R,G,B from bayer pattern images; determining edge direction information conditions computed in the edge direction information computation step; and computing a color interpolation parameter on the basis of color interpolation parameter computation algorithm corresponding to the edge direction information conditions.
