A socket for holding a backlight lamp is provided to optimize the configuration of an actuator constituting a part of the socket to improve the durability and enhance the strength for holding a terminal of the backlight terminal. A housing(10) has a receiving space in which a backlight lamp terminal is received. An elastic contact element(20) is contacted with the backlight lamp terminal and joined into a circuit board within the receiving space. An actuator(30) is upwardly and downwardly movable with respect to the housing. The actuator includes a keeping groove(31) for keeping the backlight lamp terminal, lateral walls(32) for defining lateral surfaces of the keeping groove and having elasticity, horizontal support portions(33) respectively extended from lower portions of the lateral walls in an opposite direction of the keeping groove, and elastic arms(34) upwardly extended from end portions of the horizontal support portions to face the lateral walls. When the backlight lamp terminal is received in the housing and contacted with the elastic contact element within the housing, the actuator descends to receive at least a portion of the backlight lamp terminal within the keeping groove and the elastic arms, and the lower portions of the lateral walls get together to the center. As the result, the lower portion of the keeping groove has a small width, thereby preventing the separation of the backlight lamp terminal. |
