An apparatus for removing harmful gas is provided to treat harmful gas having malodor and toxic materials effectively, by decomposing the harmful gas through a harmful gas decomposing unit and purifying the hardly decomposed harmful gas. A harmful gas absorbing unit(10) dissolves water-soluble components which are contained in the harmful gas, into water, and dries remaining gas with a first absorbing filter(17). An absorbing tank(14) purifies the harmful gas-enriched liquid. A second absorbing filter(20) dries the harmful gas supplied from the harmful gas absorbing unit. A harmful gas decomposing unit(30) decomposes the harmful gas supplied from a purifying unit(40), wherein the harmful gas decomposing unit has a cylinder type metal foam catalyst. An adsorbing unit has an activated carbon filter for re-treating the final exhaust gas outputted from the harmful gas decomposing unit.
