<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-contrast liquid crystal display device which causes no black floating by eliminating a light leak in a liquid crystal panel during black display. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 100 has a first panel and a second panel, wherein a liquid crystal of a vertical alignment mode is charged, put one over the other between a pair of light-transmissive substrates. A plurality of projection portions 13 for alignment control over the liquid crystal are provided on surfaces of counter substrates, constituting the first panel and second panel, which come into contact with the liquid crystal. The above projection portions 13 are disposed as not being overlapping with the projection portions 13 that the adjacent second panel has when viewed from a direction perpendicular to a display surface of the first panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
