<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a redox flow battery exhausting gas generated from an electrolyte, in a clean state while preventing the damage of tanks by preventing pressure buildup in the tanks. <P>SOLUTION: The redox flow battery 1A comprises a battery cell 2, a positive electrode tank 31, a negative electrode tank 41, positive electrode electrolyte circulation piping 32, 33 and negative electrode electrolyte circulation piping 42, 43. The redox flow battery 1A further comprises gas eliminating devices 61, 62 eliminating gas generated from the electrolyte during the operation of the battery, and exhaust valves 71, 72 provided downstream of the gas eliminating devices 61, 62 to exhaust gas to the outside when the pressure of gas accumulated in the respective tanks 31, 41 becomes a predetermined pressure or more.
