PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of sterilizating a container which exhibits more effective sterilization. SOLUTION: The method of sterilizating the container includes (A) the process of sterilizing an inner wall of a container by contacting potassium hydroxide solution containing 0.2 mol/L or more and 0.5 mol/L or less of the potassium hydroxide with the inner wall, and (B) the process of removing the potassium hydroxide solution adhering to the inner wall of the container.
