PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst, with high photocatalytic activity, which develops a conspicuous photocatalytic action under exposure to indoor or outdoor white fluorescent lighting, and also, an outstanding effect upon the keeping of freshness of agricultural products such as vegetables and fruits, and cut flowers. SOLUTION: An aqueous solution of a mixture of a titanium dioxide, and a special thiosulfate or peroxosulfate added individually to the former or of these substances in various combinations, is saturated, adsorbed or coprecipitated. Further, the aqueous solution thus processed is mixed with an aqueous solution of an ammonium sulfate compound, and this mixture is saturated, adsorbed or coprecipitated.
