HIGH-TEMPERATURE MULTIPASS CELL FOR ABSORBTION SPECTROSCOPY OF CASES AND VAPORS AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURES

The invention is directed to a high-temperature multipass cell (1) which is suitable to be used in absorption spectroscopy under high temperature and different pressures. The high-temperature multipass cell (1) comprises compensating means (13, 16) to compensate thermal expansion. The concept of the high-temperature multipass cell (1) according to the present invention enables sensitive spectral measurements on gases and vapors at adjustable temperatures in a wide temperature range between room temperature and high temperatures such as 450°C. Furthermore, optical adjustments, e.g. in order to vary the length of the light path, are possible while the cell (1) is in operation. Once adjustments are made by the operator, thermal expansion is mechanically compensated.
