An automotive windscreen wiper assembly has a wiper arm attached to a bow with an aerodynamic spoiler cross-section and a rubber blade. The spoiler has a leading edge and a non-linear trailing edge. The gap between the trailing edge and the window varies over its entire length. The trailing edge is essentially follows either an irregular wavy or zigzag pattern. In an alternative embodiment the spoiler upper surface incorporates a series of castellated notches.
