<p>The device has a surface plate for supporting a machine part, where a surface of the surface plate has a groove into which a nut piece, that adjustably receives a stationary catch, is fixedly arranged in a desired position. Another groove of the surface plate has a longitudinal axis aligned with the former groove. A slide (15) is linearly led along the longitudinal axis and is freely and movably supported in the latter groove with respect to the longitudinal axis.
