A method for processing an image in an image processing device is provided to detect color pixels occurring at the boundary of each black pattern or each white pattern and convert the color pixels into black pixels or white pixels. It is determined if black patterns and white patterns are repeated in an RGB signal extracted from a composite video signal(S10). It is determined if a color pixel exists at the boundary between the black patterns or the white patterns(S20). If the color pixel exists at the boundary, the color pixel is converted into a black pixel or a white pixel(S30). The black patterns and the white patterns form at least 10 pixels. The black pattern and the white pattern are repeated in a column direction or a row direction.
