<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side airbag device capable of inflating and developing an airbag without strongly pressing an obstacle even when the obstacle is present in the vicinity of the developing direction of the airbag by a gas introducing member. <P>SOLUTION: The side airbag device comprises an airbag 16, an inner tube (a gas introducing member) 17 provided in the airbag 16 and having gas ports 26-28 at a plurality of parts, and an inflator (a gas generation source) 15 provided in the inner tube 17 to generate a gas according to a shock from a side of a vehicle. The side airbag device ejects the gas from the inflator 15 from the gas ports 26-28 of the inner tube 17, and inflates and develops the airbag 16 in a folded state between a vehicular seat and a body side part. In addition, the inner tube 17 is folded when the airbag 16 is folded so that at least one of the gas ports 26-28 is closed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
