The invention relates to a method for controlling and/or regulating the air pressure in a compressed air supply device (26, 28, 30) for a utility vehicle, said method comprising the following steps: at least one pressure value in the compressed air supply device and/or in vehicle components connected to the compressed air supply device is recorded; a humidity value representing the humidity content in an air filter unit (48) associated with the compressed air supply device is determined; a clutch (12) connecting a drive (10) to a compressor is opened; and a discharge valve (106) of the compressed air supply device is opened when the pressure value is above a pre-determined minimum value and the humidity value exceeds a pre-determined threshold value. According to the invention, the clutch (12) is opened and the discharge valve remains closed when it is indicated that the clutch (12) can be engaged, the pressure value reaches a pre-determined cutting-off pressure, and the humidity value is below the pre-determined threshold value.
