<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller, for an image forming apparatus, capable of shortening time required to finish a printing process after the start of it, by an inexpensive and simple method. <P>SOLUTION: The controller 1 for the image forming apparatus 101 having a printer engine 113 that forms an image on a recording medium includes an engine control section 3 and a main control section 4. The engine control section 3 controls the printer engine 113 whereas the main control section 4 controls the engine control section 3.
