<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent light oil composition suppressing the performance lowering of an engine oil, which contains a low environmental burden-type light oil base material produced from an animal and vegetable oils and fats-containing hydrocarbon as a raw material and which is excellent in CO<SB>2</SB>exhausting property, fuel consumption and oxidation stability. <P>SOLUTION: This light oil composition comprises a low environmental burden-type light oil base material which is a hydrocarbon-containing mixed fraction containing: 50% by mass or more of a 15-18C straight chain saturated hydrocarbon which is obtained by bringing raw material oils containing animal and vegetable oils and fats into contact with a hydrogenation-purifying catalyst containing metal(s) belonging to group 6A and/or group 8 and an inorganic oxide having acidity under pressure pressurized by hydrogen; 1% by mass or less of an aliphatic acid alkyl ester; 1% by mass or less of a free aliphatic acid; 10 ppm by mass or less of metals such as Na, K, Ca and Mg; 3 ppm by mass or less of sulfur; 1% by mass or less of oxygen; and 500 ppm by mass or less of water, has a content of sulfur of 5 ppm by mass or less, a content of oxygen of 0.5% by mass or less, a cetane value of 55 or more and a peroxide value after an accelerated oxidation test of 50 ppm by mass or less and satisfies a predetermined formulae 1 and 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
