PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoke insulation device which has a high fire resistance and in which a shield function at its opening is not impaired by fire or hot smoke. SOLUTION: This fireproof and smoke insulation device comprises a screen formed of a fireproof sheet rolled up and down at the front of the opening, sheet-like magnet strips installed at both sides of the screen, and auxiliary rails of a ferromagnetic material installed on both sides of the opening. During the lowering, the sheet-like magnet strips are attracted by the auxiliary rails to shield the opening from smoke by the screen. Each of the sheet-like magnet strips has a large number of other fixing means and a heating and inflating sheet for preventing the temperature of these all fixing means from rising. Since the heating and inflating sheet is expanded according to the rise of the temperature by fire or hot smoke, the further rise of temperature of these all fixing means can be prevented.
