A positive electrode active material is provided to improve load characteristics, low-temperature characteristics, and cycle characteristics at high temperature. A positive electrode active material comprises a lithium cobalt composite oxide of Li_xCo_aM1_bM2_cO_2(wherein, M1 is a first element, M2 is a second element, each of x, a, b, and c is in the range of 0.9<=x<=1.1, 0.9<=a<1, 0.001<=b<=0.05, 0.001<=c<=0.05, and a+b+c=1), a first subcomponent element that is at least one selected from Ti, Zr, and Hf, and a second subcomponent element that is at least one selected from the group consisting of Si, Ge, and Sn. A content of the first subcomponent element is in the range of 0.01-10mol% based on cobalt in the lithium cobalt composite oxide. A content of the second subcomponent element is in the range of 0.01-10mol% relative to cobalt in the lithium cobalt composite oxide. |
