An air conditioner having a plurality of compressors is provided to control refrigerant circulation for first and second indoor heat exchangers in accord with indoor load variations, thereby achieving an optimized cooling cycle in the air conditioner. An air conditioner having a plurality of compressors comprises a first compressor(111), a second compressor(112), an outdoor heat exchanger(115), an electric expansion valve(130), a first indoor heat exchanger(113), and a second indoor heat exchanger(114). The first and second compressors have different capacities. The outdoor heat exchanger is connected to the first and second compressors through check valves(120,121). The electric expansion valve is connected to the outdoor heat exchanger and controls refrigerant circulation. The first indoor heat exchanger is connected to the electric expansion valve through solenoid valves(116,117). The second indoor heat exchanger is connected to the electric expansion valve through a capillary tube(118) and the solenoid valve. The electric expansion valve controls refrigerant circulation in accord with load variations.
