A fuel cell stack (1) includes a membrane electrode assembly (3) includin g an electrolyte membrane (4) and electrode catalyst layers (5A, 5C) sandwic hing the electrolyte membrane; metal separators (7A, 7C) that define gas cha nnels (8A, 8C), the metal separators being respectively disposed at both sur faces of the membrane electrode assembly; a current collector (14) from whic h electromotive force is derived, the current collector being in contact wit h at least one of the metal separators; and joining parts (11) that join the metal separator to the current collector at portions where the metal separa tor contacts the current collector.
