<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide "a vehicle surrounding image generating apparatus and a photometry adjustment method for an imaging apparatus" for generating a vehicle surrounding image having no seams due to luminance difference and giving little sense of incongruity to a driver with small computational quantity. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle surrounding image generating apparatus includes: a photometry important point region determining section 5 that determines an overlap region overlapped with photographing regions of cameras 1a to 1d as a photometry important point region; and an exposure calculation section 6 that intensively applies photometry to the photometry important point region to calculate proper exposure of the cameras 1a to 1d, and the vehicle surrounding image generating apparatus causes at least part of the cameras 1a to 1d used for generating a vehicle surrounding image to apply photometry to the overlapped region of the photographing range located, e.g. in a predicted traveling direction of its own vehicle as the photometry important point region to thereby make at least the luminances of a plurality of images with the overlapped photographing region in the photometry important point region nearly equal to each other thereby making seams caused by a luminance difference located among the images almost invisible. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
