<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably perform image formation at desired quality by achieving a selection instruction for toner corresponding to recording action in an image forming apparatus main body side thereby replenishing toner of quality suitable for an image forming apparatus main body. <P>SOLUTION: A stored toner specification method is provided for the image forming apparatus forming an image by attaching the stored toner in an attachable/detachable developing cartridge to an electrostatic latent image formed on a photoreceptor drum based on an image data and transferring/fixing the developed toner image to a recording medium. The method is characterized in that various information regarding recording action using the stored toner is accumulated and retained in a main body memory etc., and when replenishing the stored toner by replacing the developing cartridge when the toner is finished etc., the type A or B of the developing cartridge for storing the toner of the quality which is suitable for the recording action based on the information accumulated and retained in the main body memory is selected and output to be displayed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
