BASE STATION SYNCHRONIZATION FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for speedily and efficiently synchronizing a plurality of base stations with one another in a cellular communication network without requiring an additional resource.

SOLUTION: The system and the method time-synchronize the plurality of base stations in a wireless communication system. The system determines an estimate of timing accuracy associated with each base station. When base station's timing accuracy is over a threshold, the system determines whether there is a neighboring base station with better timing accuracy. The base station over the threshold is adjusted in response to an estimated difference between that base station and the neighboring base station.
