<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device in which display quality is enhanced by increasing the dynamic contrast ratio of a screen and further electric power consumption is reduced, and also to provide a driving method for the display device, and a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The display device is equipped with a panel assembly having a plurality of first scan lines transmitting first scan signals, a plurality of first data lines transmitting first data signals, and a plurality of first pixel regions defined by the first scan lines and the first data lines and having respective pixel circuits, and a back light unit having a plurality of second scan lines transmitting first scan signals, a plurality of second data lines transmitting second data signals, and a plurality of second pixel regions defined by the second scan lines and the second data lines.
