METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SUBSTRATE WITH RIB FROM FORMING DIE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing device of a substrate for PDP, which easily reduces the nonuniformity of a dielectric layer and defects of a rib. SOLUTION: The device is suitably used for manufacturing the substrate for a plasma display panel provided with the rib on a flat plate. The device has: a supporting stand of the flat plate; a rib precursor feed section to provide the precursor of the rib on the flat plate; a flexible forming die installed on the precursor of the rib provided on the flat plate, and having at least groove portions arranged parallelly at fixed intervals; a forming die pressing part giving a pressure to the forming die to allow the forming die to be in close contact with the flat plate through the precursor of the rib; and a drive part to move the forming die pressing part along the groove portions of the forming die.
