A time constant (T) of a high pass filter for removing a damper resonance component as a distortion element according to the rpm (Ne) of an engine is calculated and by using the calculated time constant (T), a transfer function is calculated to set the high pass filter (S110, S120). The set high pass filter is subjected to timer required for 30-degree rotation (T30) expressing rotation fluctuation of the engine so as to obtain a required time after filtration (F30) after removing the resonance component of the damper (28) (S130). By using a predetermined time difference (D30) and a judgment difference (J30) calculated from this, a misfire is judged (S140 to S180). Thus, it is possible to surely and accurately judge a misfire of an engine outputted via the damper as the distortion element regardless of the rpm (Ne) of the engine. |
