A direction information representation method and a telematics system are provided to display greatly local guide place text data than remote guide place text data on map data linked with a destination node when a search path from a current location of a vehicle to a destination node is within a predetermined region from the destination node. A guide place DB(Database)(201) records local guide place text data and remote guide place text data which are linked with each road sign information of map data. A user input device(202) receives a destination node from a user. A identifying unit(203) identifies the local guide place text data and the remote guide place text data which are lined with the destination node from the guide place DB. A display(204) checks whether a search path is within a predetermined region from the destination node and displays differently the identified local guide place text data and remote guide place text data on the map data linked with the destination node according to the checked result. |
