THE GAIN CONFIGURATION MECHANISM OF RF REPEATER USING THE RX POWER

A gain setup device using reception power in a wireless communication repeater and a method therefor are provided to optimize a system gain based on a power value of a pure receiving signal received from a base station or a terminal and a power value of a receiving signal to which a random transmission signal is re-incoming, thereby optimally setting the system gain. While a signal transmission function is interrupted, a power value of a pure receiving signal received from the outside is measured(300,301). A pre-defined system gain minimum value is set to a minimum system gain(302). While the interrupted signal transmission function is canceled, a random transmission signal is generated and sent to the outside(303). A reception power value of the random transmission signal re-incoming with the pure receiving signal is measured(304). A power value of the re-incoming random transmission signal is calculated on the basis of the measured power value of the pure receiving signal and a power value of mixed receiving signals(305). A system gain corresponding to transceiving antenna isolation is calculated(306). A controlled system gain is calculated on the basis of the calculated system gain(307). An optimized system gain is calculated on the basis of the controlled system gain, and the result value is set to an optimum system gain(308).
