An apparatus for receiving DMB with a juke box function and a method for controlling the same are provided enable a user to search of the broadcasting data easily by classifying and storing broadcasting data according to a predetermined standard. A key input device(10) inputs a control command of a user. A data receiver(20) receives DMB data through a satellite or terrestrial broadcasting. A storage unit(30) stores the DMB data according to a storage command of the user. A jukebox(40) extracts program information of the DMB data of the storage unit(30), and classifies the program information according to a video broadcasting classification standard and an audio broadcasting classification standard. A data detector(50) detects at least one DMB data stored in the storage unit(30) according to a search or selection command of a user. A data processing unit(60) outputs DMB data input from the data receiver(20) or the data detector(50) to a display(80) or a speaker(90). A controller(70) controls all operations of a system according to a control command of the user.
