A humidifier is provided to straightly reciprocate a humidifying part by a straight moving part in a simple structure to wet a large area of the humidifying part by water in a water tank, thereby maximizing humidifying efficiency of the humidifier. A humidifier includes a water tank(100), a humidifying part(200) to be wetted by the water in the water tank, and a straight moving part for moving the humidifying part straightly to wet a large area of the humidifying part in the water. The linear moving part has a cam(320) mounted to the humidifying part, a driving part such as a motor for driving the cam, a connecting rod(310) mounted to the humidifying part and contacting the cam, and an elastic element(340) for applying elastic force to the connecting rod, wherein the elastic element makes the humidifying part to an initial position thereof by elasticity and reduces a capacity of the motor as much as the elasticity.
