<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication apparatus capable of applying different kinds of optical relay function modules to a common supervisory and control communication function section and a power unit, respectively. <P>SOLUTION: An optical communication apparatus includes at least one or more of a power supply port 102, a communication port 103 capable of supervising an alarm or controlling a setting change via a network and a host board 101 comprising an electric circuit section 106 configured to change operation according to a program and packages two optical transmitting/receiving modules 108, 109 therein.
