<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize erasing power in an optical disk device. <P>SOLUTION: A system controller 32 optimizes erasing power of overwriting time and erasing power of DC current erasing time when data is recorded in an rewritable optical disk 10 such as a DVD-RW.
