IMAGE CORRECTION CIRCUIT, IMAGE CORRECTION METHOD, AND IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image correction circuit for improving display image quality by preventing deformation of a gradation change in a luminance region in the case of DC level conversion to a luminance signal and to provide an image correction method, and an image display apparatus.

SOLUTION: A DC transfer rate correction section 21 maintains a luminance signal level in a low luminance region nearly as it is and decreases a luminance signal level in medium/high luminance regions depending on an average luminance detected by an APL detection circuit 211. A loss of the gradation change resulting in causing deformation in the low luminance region after the conversion is avoided while executing the DC level conversion similarly to conventional technologies in the medium/high luminance regions.
