IN-IC-CARD AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-security biometrics authentication system for in-IC-card authentication.

SOLUTION: An in-IC-card authentication system performs biometrics authentication processing by an authentication program in a portable electronic device (an IC card). A biometrics authentication control method includes steps of: receiving preprocessed data derived from biological information from the portable electronic device, transmitting the preprocessed data to a biometrics authentication mechanism unit, receiving from the biometrics authentication mechanism unit authentication data obtained by combining the biological information acquired from the biometrics authentication mechanism unit with the preprocessed data, transmitting the received authentication data to the portable electronic device, and operating the portable electronic device to collate registration data previously stored in it with the authentication data.
