PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning apparatus capable of preventing the overflow of a cleaning liquid and also adapted to a reaction container capable of analyzing a very small amount of a specimen. SOLUTION: The cleaning apparatus includes a cleaning liquid supply nozzle 34, a first cleaning liquid suction nozzle 46 and a second cleaning liquid suction nozzle 48. This cleaning apparatus is provided with a continuity state monitor means 56 for monitoring a state that the first cleaning liquid nozzle 46 the leading end of which is inserted in the reaction container 6 and the second cleaning liquid suction nozzle 48 are electrically connected in the outside of the reaction container and the nozzles 46 and 48 are electrically connected by the cleaning liquid in the case where the liquid surface height of the cleaning liquid 36 exceeds the height wherein the specimen and a reagent are put in.
