PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxidative hair dye composition having high densely dyeing effect. SOLUTION: The oxidative hair dye composition comprises a first agent compounded with an alkaline agent and a second agent compounded with an oxidizing agent. This hair dye composition is to be used by mixing the first agent and the second agent with each other. In this hair dye composition, the first agent is compounded with the component(a) mentioned below, and the first agent and/or second agent is compounded with the components(b) and (c) mentioned below. After mixing the first agent and the second agent with each other, the resultant hair dye composition has a pH of 8-11 and contains 0.5-20 mass% of the component(b). The component(a) is p-aminophenol and 5-amino-o-cresol and/or 5-(2-hydroxyethylamino)-2-methylphenol. The component(b) is a higher alcohol having a branched structure and liquid at room temperature and a second higher alcohol having an unsaturated bond and liquid at room temperature.
