PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording head which prevents a temperature difference between an end part and a center part in the longitudinal direction of a recording element substrate even in the recording head which has a long printing length and in which ink flow paths communicating with an ink supplying port of the recording element substrate are formed in parallel in a supporting member that supports the recording element substrate. SOLUTION: (1) Slits 202 penetrating the supporting member 200 are formed at a distance equal to or nearly equal to a partition wall width between a plurality of the ink flow paths 201 at both outer parts in the longitudinal direction of the ink flow paths 201 of the supporting member 200. (2) A member which has a thermal conductivity equivalent to or not smaller than the thermal conductivity of a material that forms the supporting member 200, and which is formed of a material larger in specific gravity or specific heat than the material that forms the supporting member 200 is loaded at the longitudinal direction center part of a partition wall between a plurality of the ink flow paths 201 of the supporting member 200.
