摘要 Disclosed is a measuring instrument (1) for determining the actual condition of wheel sets (31) and wheels (34) of a passing railroad vehicle with the aid of several beam optical devices (26). Said measuring instrument (1) is disposed in the track panel (12) of a railroad track (3) and comprises a first section (8) for rolling and laterally guiding a wheel set (31) into a measuring section (10) by means of an auxiliary rail for supporting the wheel set (31) on the outer edges of the wheels (34) thereof, and a third section (11) for rolling the wheel set (31) out onto the railroad track (3). The first (8) and the third section (11) of the measuring instrument (1) are also designed as a track panel (2) while the beam optical devices (26) are located below the measuring section (10). The first (8) and the third section (11) of the measuring instrument (1) are elastically embedded in the ballast (6) of the superstructure of the railroad track (3) while at least one of the beam optical devices (26) is mounted vibration-free on the subgrade (7) of the superstructure of the railroad track (3) in a predetermined position relative to the measuring section (10) of the measuring instrument (1) without being in contact with the other parts of the measuring instrument (1).
