AIR INTAKE DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

An air intake device for an internal combustion engine, the air intake device regulating intake air flow by a valve body (11) rotating about a valve shaft (12). The valve shaft (12) is at a position eccentric from the center (CL) of the valve body (11) and is supported by the air intake path (3), at a position eccentric from the center (HL) of the air intake path (3). When the valve body (11) is rotated, it reaches a half open state after experiencing a fully closed state and a fully open state. A simple modification of a butterfly type air intake control valve enables to form a fully closed state, fully open state, and half open state, which enables generation of a swirl flow in a cylinder.
