An apparatus for processing a digital image having a track pointer and a method for controlling the same are provided to allow a user to enlarge a specific region in a single reproduction mode, and to move or delete thumbnail image files at the same time in a thumbnail reproduction mode. The setting key(16) is used for indicating the activation of the coordinate data obtained from the track pointer(15) generated by the user pushing pressure.
