<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cool a plurality of image carriers, without upsizing an apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: By providing an intake fan 100 on the side surface part 18A of a conveying unit 18, the fan 100 is arranged away from a driving mechanism and a power supply unit, etc. As shown by arrows S1 to S4, external air taken in through the intake fan 100 is impinged on the side surface part 18A of the conveying unit 18, thereafter, rectified, then, the external air is made to flow near each photoreceptor drum 20 and each developing unit 25 as a part to be cooled in the axial direction of the rotating shaft 21. A distance between the intake fan 100 and each photoreceptor drum 20 or each developing unit 25 is not too long.
