<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for efficiently activating optical catalyst reaction in a touch panel with a visible light response type optical catalyst layer formed on a surface by controlling visible light illuminating the touch panel. <P>SOLUTION: The display device D is provided with the touch panel 2 arranged on a display 4 with the visible light response type optical catalyst layer 21 formed on the surface, a light source 46 for illuminating the display 4 and the touch panel 2 from the back, and an illuminating light control means 10 for emitting light emitted by the light source 46 selectively on the visible light response type optical catalyst layer 21 in the touch panel 2.
