PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus etc. which efficiently recognizes the section of a body part expressed in each axial direction tomographic image regarding one series of axial direction tomographic images obtained by imaging and inspecting a patient by modality. SOLUTION: The apparatus which recognizes the section of the body part expressed in each of the plurality of axial direction tomographic images comprises: a featured value calculation part 21 to a section decision processing part 23 which decide the section of the body part expressed in each axial direction tomographic image temporarily; and a section correction processing part 25 which corrects the section decided temporarily about one or more axial direction tomographic images by the section decision processing part 23 based on information about the plurality of axial direction tomographic images.
