The invention relates to two polymorphic forms of 3 -ammo- 1 -propane sulfonic acid (homotaurme) and the use of the same for the treatment of amyloidosis The two polymorphic forms are characterized by their unique XRPD peaks and FT-IR spectra The invention also discloses processes of producing the two forms and the mixtures thereof by recrystalizmg amorphous homotaurme from various organic solvents
